Breast Care Nurses Conference 2010
Welcome to the website for the 12th National Breast Care Nurses Conference, which will take place at the Crowne Plaza in Coogee, New South Wales from 18-19 March 2010. This event, organised by the Breast Cancer Interest Group, will bring together up to 400 nurses and other health care professionals from all over the country, representing various hospitals and charitable organisations.
The Breast Cancer Interest Group NSW was founded in 1995 in order to promote the role of the Breast Cancer Nurse and to facilitate networking amongst health professionals with an interest in breast cancer care. Their mission is to promote excellence in breast cancer care in New South Wales and increase collaboration and networking with other health professionals at events such as this Conference.
Conference Objectives
Conference objectives include the following:
- Link Breast Care Nurses throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia
- Clinically update nurses in the breast cancer area with the latest knowledge and skills
- Provide a theatre for debate and education regarding the role of the breast care nurse throughout the continuum of treatment
- Highlight the importance of the Breast Care Nurse at any stage of the breast cancer experience including diagnosis, recurrence or palliation
- Emphasise the importance of the Breast Care Nurse as a participating member of the multi-disciplinary team.
